SVIT - Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Institute of Technology was established in 1997 with the Ideals of Shri Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. It is approved by AICTE, DTE(Government of Gujarat) and affiliated with Gujarat University. If offers 11 graduation courses and 2 post graduations courses.
SVIT is located on the bank of river Mahi, at Vasad, in a pollution free environment 20km from Baroda and V.V. Nagar.

"Prakarsh", a platform for helping students for enlightening their future, was first organised in 2006 which turned to be a huge success. A huge mass of students actively participated from the different corners of the country and had shown their dexterous skills to make the event successful.
Inspired by the success of the previous event SVIT Vasad along with ISTE organised Prakarsh 2007 setting a trend in the history of SVIT. With the increase in number of participants and seeing their enthusiam we are here to plant the seeds of Prakarsh 2008.
